Candlelight vigil Friday evening in Lebanon honors Black lives lost

Young adults in Lebanon have planned a peaceful candlelight vigil tonight honoring the Black lives lost in police violence.

“Lebanon is a predominately white, conservative community with a scarred record of racist incidents. So while race relations are being discussed on the national front, the vigil’s organizers found it important to acknowledge how their community was also part of the overarching problem. With the abundance of protests and demonstrations, they wanted to create a reflective vigil to show support for the movement and spread awareness,” according to a press release issued Friday.
