“These results are a combination of our focus on academic excellence as part of our mission as a Christian university and our size,” explained Dr. Marc Sweeney, dean of Cedarville’s school of pharmacy and professor of pharmacy practice. “We train our students for residency preparation and provide our soon-to-be graduates with one-on-one opportunities to practice interviewing for residencies.
“Our students have very high-performance expectations, so when they complete their clinical experiences, they tend to perform very well in patient care,” he said.
What makes these rankings even more impressive is that Cedarville’s School of Pharmacy is the newest among Ohio’s seven pharmacy schools, and has only been operational for 10 years.
“I attribute that success to the drive of our faculty,” Sweeney said. “We hired exceptional faculty who wanted to train up Christian pharmacists to be motivated to do work above and beyond.”
