Cloudy start to break up for some sun today

Today, we will start of cloudy, but the sky cover will gradually break up for some sun, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. Tonight, however, clouds will return with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, lasting into Sunday morning.

It will be warm during the day, with a high near 79 degrees, and only falling to around 61 degrees overnight.

Tomorrow morning, we will see showers mainly in the before 8 a.m., after which the clouds will eventually clear as we go into Sunday night. During the day the high will be near 68 degrees, falling to around 47 degrees overnight.

To start the work week again, we will see sunny skies, the NWS said, with a high near 68 degrees, followed by a cloudy but otherwise quiet night with a low around 47 degrees.
