The incident was reported at 6:39 p.m.
Richmond Power & Light also responded to the scene to replace the pole, which Bartlett said may have been an older pole.
Initial reports indicated the cable worker was shocked during the incident, but Bartlett said he was unable to confirm the man was electrocuted. Also, Bartlett said it's not clear how many feet the man fell.
The worker was taken to Reid Hospital and then flown to a trauma hospital. His name, age and condition have not been released.

A medical helicopter has been called for a Comcast cable worker who fell after being shocked.
The Life Flight helicopter is meeting the worker at Reid Hospital, where the worker was taken from the 400 block of West Eaton Pike in Richmond, Indiana.
The worker was on a ladder at the time of the accident, according to Richmond police dispatch.
How far the worker fell and how much voltage may have hit the worker was not clear.

The incident was reported shortly after 6:30 p.m. in the 400 block of West Eaton Pike.
