1 arrested, 1 gunshot victim taken to hospital in Dayton shooting

UPDATE @ 7:10 p.m. (May 2):

A Montgomery County grand jury reviewed the case presented against Robbie Lee Weatherspoon Jr., but chose to not indict him, according to a grand jury report released today.

UPDATE @ 2:30 a.m. (April 6): A victim of a shooting at Woodman Park Apartments Saturday morning was taken to Miami Valley Hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, police confirmed.

The victim, a man, was shot by a male suspect over domestic dispute issues, police said.

The suspect was arrested.

Police did not name him, but Montgomery County Jail records show that Robbie Lee Weatherspoon Jr. was booked on suspicion of aggravated burglary and felonious assault. He is scheduled to appear in court Monday.

FIRST REPORT: One person has been taken to Miami Valley Hospital from a shooting at the Woodman Park Apartments in Dayton.

Police and a medic unit were dispatched about 12:12 a.m. on a report of a possible shooting in the 4900 block of Woodman Park Drive.

We're working to learn the victim’s condition. We're hearing the victim is a man, 35, who was hit in the leg by a bullet fired from a passing vehicle.

We have a crew on the way and we will update this developing report.
