Construction begins on 33 new homes in Dayton

DAYTON — Community leaders gathered in Dayton’s Fairview neighborhood today, July 29, to break ground on The Rising at Phoenix, a development of 33 new single-family homes.

Each of the houses will have four bedrooms, two full baths and a two-car, detached garage, with an average of 1,450-square-feet of living space.

The homes will be available to qualified residents through a lease-purchase program. The first four houses should be ready for occupancy in November with completion of the development expected by June of 2010.

The Rising at Phoenix marks progress for the Phoenix Project, a comprehensive effort to revitalize the neighborhoods at Dayton’s northwest gateway, surrounding Good Samaritan Hospital.

The Phoenix Project is managed by the CityWide Development Corporation in cooperation with Good Samaritan Hospital, the city of Dayton and neighborhood residents.

The Rising at Phoenix development is managed by Miller-Valentine Group and CityWide Development Corporation.
