There are 25,721 total cases and 1,483 deaths attributed to coronavirus, according to the Ohio Department of Health.

The state is reporting 24,245 total cases and 1,347 deaths.

Hospitalizations are at 4,618 with 1,248 ICU admissions.

On Tuesday, Lt. Gov. Jon Husted and Gov. Mike DeWine announced that tattoo, piercing and massage businesses can reopen May 15. Hair salons, personal beauty stores and patio dining was previously scheduled to resume the same day.

Husted explained that tattoo parlors and massage businesses were not initially included with personal beauty stores because they are regulated differently.

State advisory groups are continuing to work on plans to reopen daycares, gyms, travel and tourism, outdoor recreation and more.

Also on Tuesday, Staying Connected, a service aimed at keeping Ohio seniors from feeling isolated during the pandemic, was announced. Ohioans 60 and older will be able to sign up for a free, daily phone call to check on their well-being and connect them to local resources. To register, call 1-833-ODA-CHAT (1-833-2428).
