Coronavirus: CompuNet expands hours for antibody testing

CompuNet is adding more hours for coronavirus antibody testing in the Miami Valley due to a reported increase in demand.

“As physician offices experience an increase in patient visits – either in-office or virtual visits – the lab is experiencing increased test volumes,” said Teresa Williams CompuNet COO. “In addition to an increase in our traditional lab tests, we are now seeing a spike in demand for COVID-19 IgG antibody testing.

CompuNet if offering Saturday hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the following locations:

CompuNet’s Miami Valley Hospital North and Upper Valley Medical Center are offering testing from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

Sunday hours are also available from 8 a.m. to noon at Atrium Medical Center and Upper Valley Medical Center.

Staff and patients are both required to wear masks. Social distancing should be practiced in waiting rooms.

If the waiting room gets too busy, patients might be asked to wait in their vehicles. Patients can bring one adult companion for help.

Children younger than 18 are not permitted unless they are the patient.

Each room will be cleaned after every patient visit. Hand sanitizer will also be available for patients.

Antibody testing is for those who believe they had COVID-19 sometime in the last few months.

The test can be requested through a physician or without a doctor’s order.
