The Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association on Tuesday announced that member hospitals will amend the visitation policy to protect the health of the mother and baby during labor and delivery as the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases continues to increase in the region, affecting all age groups across Ohio.
“As hospitals prioritize the safety of all patients, special attention must be focused on our most vulnerable patients -- newborn infants,” Sarah Hackenbracht, president and CEO of GDAHA.
Visitors also will no longer be allowed for hospitalized patients.

- End-of-life situations
- Minor patients, younger than 18 may have two visitors, limited to parents or guardians
- Patients who require assistance due to mobility, confusion, interpretation, court-ordered or healthcare decision making may have one additional assistance person.

Visitors will not be permitted for confirmed or suspected COVID-19 patients in the hospital, unless the patient meets one of the above exceptions.
Patients will be limited to one visitor/support person in the ER, for surgery, a procedure or office visit. No visitors younger than 18 will be permitted.
