Face masks must be worn by those doing business with Miamisburg Municipal Court starting Wednesday due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a recent order.

The order, filed by Judge Robert Rettich III, states “all litigants, plaintiffs, defendants, attorneys, witnesses and observers entering the courtroom, probation department, or the public area of the clerk of court’s office shall at all times wear a face mask covering the individual’s mouth and nose.”

The face mask order involving the coronavirus will remain in effect until a further order, it states.

Rettich had earlier filed an amended order delaying most trials until after mid-May and continuing to release some jailed defendants.

The earlier order outlined more than 30 points on how court will operate.

The municipal court covers Germantown, German Twp., Miami Twp., Miamisburg and West Carrollton.
