Coronavirus: Miami County reports 9th, 10th and 11th deaths linked to nursing homes; IDs released

Three additional deaths related to the coronavirus bring the total in Miami County to 11 connected to an outbreak at two nursing homes, public health officials announced Monday afternoon.

The COVID-19 cluster of cases involve patients and staff at Koester Pavilion in Troy and SpringMeade Health Center in Tipp City.

Miami County Coroner Dr. William Ginn identified the latest patients to die as Ralph Brown, 90, a patient of SpringMeade from Troy who died Wednesday; Diane Estep, 63, a patient at Koester Pavilion from Piqua who died Friday; and Douglas Marshall, 72, a patient of Koester Pavilion from Troy who died Sunday.

There also are 90 positive cases in the county, according to the release from Miami County Public Health. The age range is 16 to 96, with 51 females and 39 males.
