Coronavirus: Montgomery County Municipal Court closes two more courthouses

The Montgomery County Clerk of Courts Office has announced that to help respond to the coronavirus, it has closed two more Montgomery County Municipal Court locations. Effective today, the Western Division courthouse located on South Clayton Road in New Lebanon and the Eastern Division courthouse on Taylorsville Road in Huber Heights are closed to the public.

Cases of a serious nature or felony preliminary hearings will be dealt with on March 24 and 31 at both locations, from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. in Huber Heights and from 12-4 p.m. in New Lebanon.

Due to this closing, the announcement said the court wouldn’t be sending jury summons for April, and to ignore any summons for March or April that you do receive.

“Our first priority is the citizens of Montgomery County that we serve and the staff in both our facilities. This is an unprecedented time and we hope to have the public’s understanding with any continuances that will be issued,” Clerk of Courts Mike Foley said.

There will be reduced staff in the courthouses Monday-Friday to answer questions from the public.

The courthouses are currently scheduled to reopen April 6.
