Coronavirus: Ohio BMVs to resume driver skills testing

Driver skills testing will resume at Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicle offices by appointment on June 16, with some locations across the state resuming testing this week.

The following six locations will resume skills testing by appointment on June 12:

  • 8210 County Rd. 140, Suite C, Findlay, Ohio 45840 (Hancock County)
  • 22133 Rockside Road, Bedford, Ohio 44146 (Cuyahoga County)
  • 990 Morse Road, Suite B, Columbus, Ohio 43229 (Franklin County)
  • 873 East Main Street, Newark, Ohio 43055 (Licking County)
  • 502 McCarty Lane, Suite 3, Jackson, Ohio 45640 (Jackson County)
  • 10940 Hamilton Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45231 (Hamilton County)

Appointments can made online.

The BMV will reach out to anyone who had a test canceled due to coronavirus closures to give the person a chance for priority-based scheduling.

Once testing is rescheduled for those whose tests were canceled, new appointments will be available for others.

Class D skills testing will use a modified process that will allow the driver examiner to score the person taking the test from outside the car.

Licenses, identification cards, vehicle registration and temporary permits that expired on or after the state emergency effective date of March 9 automatically had its expiration date extended to 90 days after the state of emergency ends or Dec. 1.
