According to a release by Huber Heights police, officers initially responded to I-70 west near Brandt Pike at 1:50 a.m. for a disabled Dodge Caravan that was in a lane of travel, but approximately one minute later an injury crash occurred.
The Penske box truck struck the rear of the Dodge Caravan that was stopped in the right westbound lane of travel. The truck then veered to the left before spinning on the highway and coming to a stop in the tree line just north of the interstate.
The male passenger, who was not wearing a seat-belt, was ejected during the crash, the release stated.
Both the driver and passenger of the Penske truck were transported to Miami Valley Hospital on unknown conditions. Their names were not released.
The occupants of the minivan were transported to Huber Emergency Room with minor injuries.
An accident investigation team was called to conduct further investigation.
