Woman suffers burns after fire breaks out in Xenia home

A woman suffered burns after a fire broke out in her Xenia home Tuesday morning.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment, but her exact condition was not available. However, officials said the woman’s injuries are non-life threatening.

Two guinea pigs were rescued and one dog was able to make it out of the house safely. A second dog was unaccounted for, investigators said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Initially the fire was reported in the bedroom of the home, according to scanner traffic.

Multiple fire crews in Greene County are battling a fire that broke out in a Xenia home Tuesday morning.

Firefighters were dispatched around 10 a.m. to the 500 block of Richard Drive and reported smoke and flames showing from the structure.
