Firefighters contain reported fire at Dayton apartment complex

UPDATE @ 2:50 p.m.: 

A fire that broke out in the bathroom of an apartment unit on McArthur Avenue was quickly extinguished by firefighters, according to initial reports.

Investigators said a small fire broke out in the insulation of a vacant unit.

There were no injuries reported and no occupants will be displaced.

FIRST REPORT

Firefighters have responded to reports of a fire at an apartment building on McArthur Avenue in Dayton Wednesday afternoon.

Crews were dispatched to the 1700 block of McArthur Avenue, near Nicholas Road, around 2:10 p.m.

First units on the scene reported smoke was coming from the second floor, according to emergency scanner traffic.

There have been no immediate reports of injuries.
