Coroner’s office IDs woman found dead after Dayton house fire

UPDATE @ 4:20 p.m.:

A 54-year-old woman was found dead inside a home after a house fire in Dayton.

The woman was identified as Angie Luckett of Dayton, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

It was not clear whether Luckett died as a result of the fire.

UPDATE @ 9:49 a.m.:

Firefighters are investigating after a woman was found dead at the scene of a house fire in Dayton, said District Chief Brad Baldwin.

Crews found the female after a primary search of the house after quickly extinguishing the flames, Baldwin said.

It’s not known what caused the woman’s death and her identity was not released.

A firefighter fell through a floor of the house but was not injured, Baldwin said.

The home did have working smoke detectors.

Heavy smoke and flame came from the first and second floor of the house.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

One person was found deceased at the scene of the fire that started in the kitchen, according to fire officials on scene.

FIRST REPORT:

Firefighters are battling smoke and flames at a story and a half structure in the 100 block of Valley View Drive in Dayton, according to regional dispatchers.

The fire was reported Saturday just before 8:30 a.m.

Dispatch logs indicated that a person fell but it’s not clear if anyone was seriously injured.

We have a crew at the scene and are working to learn more.
