No injuries reported, three displaced after Miami County house fire

UPDATE @ 3:40 a.m.:

A Fletcher Fire Department chief reported that two adults and one child were displaced due to a fire that occurred at about 12:15 a.m. this morning.

Most of the damage in the house was smoke and water damage, the chief said. The roof was heavily damaged, as was the back of the house.

Fletcher, Fort Jefferson, Casstown, Lockington and Sidney Fire Departments responded to the scene.

The Red Cross is reportedly caring for those who were displaced.

UPDATE @ 1:56 a.m.:

The house on East Miami Shelby Road was not vacant, according to firefighters on the scene.

All the residents left the house safely and no injuries were reported.

Crews on the scene were getting items from inside the house, our crew on the scene reported.

UPDATE @ 1:25 a.m.:

Our crew on the scene reported that the fire appears to be mostly put out and firefighters are dousing hot spots.

The house on East Miami Shelby Road appeared to be vacant, our crew reported, but it is not confirmed.

Smoke is still visible coming from the back of the house, our crew said.

INITIAL REPORT

Crews were called early Friday to a house fire northeast of Piqua in Miami County.

The fire was reported sometime around 12:15 a.m. in the 16000 block of East Miami Shelby Road in the Fletcher area.

Firefighters from multiple departments were called, according to initial reports.
