House in Springfield Twp., Clark County, deemed ‘total loss’ after fire

UPDATE @ 11:38 p.m.: "Undetermined" is being listed as the cause of the fire that destroyed a vacant house on Oletha Avenue in Springfield Twp., Deputy Chief Dave Nangle said.

There were no injuries stemming from the fire, which had engulfed the structure as firefighters arrived, he said.

Nangle said he wasn't sure about estimating a dollar amount on the damage, but noted, "it's a total loss."

Nangle said he and his crew were told that the residents vacated the property approximately a month ago, taking all of their belongings.

The investigation of the fire will continue, he said.

UPDATE @ 10:56 p.m.: Flames have severely damaged the one-story ranch home on Oletha Avenue in Springfield Twp.

Springfield Twp. crews have been dispatched to report of a structure fire in the 2800 block of Oletha Avenue, south of the city.

The structure, said to be a house, is believed to be vacant. The incident was dispatched about 10:10 p.m.
