Man indicted for firing multiple shots into Dayton home

UPDATE @ 4:25 p.m. (March 18):

The man who fired several shots into a Dayton home on Eichelberger Avenue on March 7 has been indicted, Prosecuting Attorney Mat Heck Jr. announced today.

Michael Logan, 32, was indicted on one count of felonious assault with a deadly weapon, one count of improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habituation, one count of having weapons while under disability, and one count of domestic violence.

Logan is currently in custody at the Montgomery County Jail and will be arraigned on March 21.

UPDATE @ 12:15 p.m. (March 7): 

Dayton police arrested Michael Logan, 32, on several charges after at least 15 shots were fired into a home on Eichelberger Avenue, according to a police incident report.

Logan was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on preliminary charges of felonious assault, domestic violence, having weapons while under disability, and improperly discharging a firearm, the police report states.

FIRST REPORT

One person is in custody after police responded to reports of shots fired at a home on Eichelberger Avenue in Dayton Thursday morning.

Officers were requested to the house in the 4500 block of Eichelberger Avenue around 7:30 a.m. after a 911 caller reported an ex-boyfriend was outside the house and fired several shots into the house, according to dispatch records.

Our crew on the scene reports at least 15 bullet holes are in the side of the house.

No one inside the house was hit by gunfire, according to initial reports.

Police have requested a K9 unit to the scene to look for the gun that was reportedly thrown by the suspect after the shots were fired, according to initial reports.
