The University of Dayton is no longer affiliated with the “Dayton 2 Daytona” annual student trip to Daytona Beach, Florida, according to an email sent to faculty today.

UD President Eric Spina said in an email that the university will “no longer provide logistical or staff support” because “D2D does not advance our Catholic, Marianist educational mission.”

The university’s decision was made with the support of the Board of Trustees, the U.S. Society of Mary leadership and the alumni association board.
