Dayton and Montgomery Public Health have updated vehicle parade guidelines amidst the coronavirus pandemic to prevent the spread of the virus.

They emphasized social distancing practices, saying that no one who is sick should participate in a parade and anyone who is either watching or participating in the parade should be at least six feet apart at all times. Both participants and viewers should wear masks. Only one person should be inside a vehicle unless they are all from the same household and live together.

Objects cannot be passed between vehicles and participants. The release also emphasized public safety, dissuading viewers from entering the streets, participants must obey traffic laws, and must keep disturbances to a minimum, especially if the parade is in a residential area. People are asked not to visit the homes of others unless it is in compliance with the stay-at-home order.
