The rally, which was set to begin at 11 a.m. at the Dayton Courthouse Square, was cancelled for 'expected inclement weather', according to an updated post on the event's Facebook page.

“The organizers are sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause, but safety of our supporters is the #1 priority”, the post read.

The march is a nationwide event where supporters come together to honor the work of the civil rights movement and celebrate the ‘Women’s Wave’ of progressive candidates across Ohio and the rest of the county.

“The work isn’t done. We implore you to check in with your local organizations about how to uplift and support the empowerment of the Dayton community”, the post also stated.

Organizers of the event include Dayton Women’s March, DIFA, Dayton Women’s Rights Alliance, Dayton Women’s Resistance and OFA.
