“It is with great sadness that I learned of the shooting of a Dayton police detective in the line of duty last evening. I join my prayers with all those in the Dayton community for this public servant and for his family. May God watch over them and give them courage and strength. At this time, I wish to also express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for all members of law enforcement who daily put themselves at risk to protect us.”

Praying for a quick recovery for the @DaytonPolice officer wounded last evening in the line of duty. I’m grateful for his commitment to protecting #Ohio and for working to rid our communities of deadly fentanyl. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts.

My heart goes out to this brave officer and all of the Dayton Police this morning.
We should never take for granted the heroic and dangerous work our police officers do to keep each of us safe every day. https://t.co/0LLvYK6RUM
