The owner of a food pantry in east Dayton will try to convince a land use board to allow the organization to distribute food from the warehouse.

Nicole Adkins, executive director of With God’s Grace, is seeking a use variance to allow her nonprofit to operate a food pantry at 622 Springfield St.

Adkins’ request will be considered tonight at the Northeast Priority Land Use Board meeting tonight at Kiser School.

City zoning officials said With God’s Grace needs to apply for a change in occupancy and get its plans approved by the Board of Zoning Appeals.

Improvements are needed to upgrade the property from a warehouse to a place where people can assemble, officials said.

Lines outside of the Springfield Street property have generated complaints from neighbors about parking headaches and safety concerns.
