Following the president’s trip, Whaley went back and forth with Trump on social media, after he said Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and Whaley misrepresented what took place inside Miami Valley Hospital.
Whaley called Trump a coward on Anderson Cooper’s show on CNN.

Cooper asked the mayor whether anything has changed since then.
“I can’t say I’m very much surprised. We’re not seeing that kind of action out of our leader in Washington,” she said.
Since the mass shooting that killed nine victims and left 17 others with gunshots, Gov. Mike DeWine has asked Ohio’s legislature to pass the red flag law to expand background checks for gun sales.
