Dayton police officer hurt after driver slams into cruiser, alcohol suspected

A Dayton police officer was hit by a driver who was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol, a Dayton police crash report shows.

Benjamin Bostom, 41, of Cincinnati hit a 25-year-old Dayton officer’s cruiser at the intersection of Wayne and Wilmington avenues Wednesday morning.

The crash happened just after midnight.

The Dayton officer, whose name has not been released, was taken to Miami Valley Hospital for possible injuries, a crash report shows.

Bostom and his passenger were not injured, the report showed.

Bostom was cited for driving without reasonable control and he refused an alcohol test, according to the report.
