Dayton ranks in top 10 for non-profit jobs

Job candidates seeking employment in the nonprofit sector could have a better chance at finding a job in Dayton.

Dayton is in the top 10 small cities with the best opportunities for nonprofit employment. Dayton landed ninth on the list, which also included cities like Richmond, Va.; Salt Lake City, Utah; Orlando, Fla.; and Charleston, S.C.

GoodCall analysts researched more than 144,000 jobs in the nonprofit sector to decipher what ares in the U.S. offer the best opportunities for nonprofit job seekers.

Average employment in the nonprofit sector increased 8.5 percent from 2007 to 2012, while employment in the private sector declined three percent in the same time period, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
