Man killed, 3 injured after car crashes into trees in Sugarcreek Twp.

A 25-year-old Miamisburg man died in a one-vehicle crash that also injured three teenagers in Sugarcreek Twp. late Sunday night.

Austin T. Gibbs was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Gibbs was a passenger in the back of the car and was wearing a seat belt.

Jacob Entingh, 19, of Centerville, was driving north on Wilmington Dayton Road in a black 2011 Lexus IS when he failed to stop for a stop sign at Conference Road, according to OSHP.

Two other passengers, Kaitlyn Reynolds, 19, of Franklin, and Haley Glandon, 17, of Centerville, were CareFlighted to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries.

Entingh had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Miami Valley South Hospital via ambulance.

Everyone in the car was wearing seat belts, according to patrol.

The incident was reported around 11:45 p.m. Sunday.

A 911 caller who lived in the area and also identified himself as a police officer told dispatchers the car went into the trees and that people were trapped.

“The car hit a guard rail and several trees,” he said. “I got a car the went into the trees. They’re up into the woods at Sugarcreek through the guard rail.”

He told dispatchers that the driver was out of the vehicle and also reported being able to hear a person call for help.

The crash is under investigation by troopers.

They are also investigating the involvement of drugs and alcohol.
