Troopers were dispatched to the rest area Tuesday morning on a report of a pickup with trailer in tow that hadn’t been moved in a couple of days. It was parked on the truck side of the rest area, troopers said.

They opened the trailer door and found Redmond in bed, deceased.

Based on evidence at the scene, Redmond’s death appears to be from natural causes with no suspicious circumstances.

According to his stepdaughter, Redmond was traveling from Livingston, Texas (approximately 70 miles north of Houston), to Canada to visit relatives.

Jamieson and Yannucci Funeral Home in Piqua has the body. Arraignments are being handled according to the family’s wishes.

The rest stop was closed to patrons approximately 4 hours for the investigation, which is continuing.
