“This IDIQ contract provides a great opportunity for the Air Force and other agencies to add capability to their fleets in a responsive, cost effective manner,” said Brig. Gen. Ryan Britton, program executive officer, Presidential and Executive Airlift Directorate. “The program team awarded the contract a mere 15 business days from receipt of FY20 funding. We expect this will set a trend to deliver affordable capability faster.”
The C-37B is a twin-engine, turbofan aircraft acquired to fill the worldwide special air missions for high-ranking government and Defense Department officials. The C-37B is based upon the high-altitude, intercontinental Gulfstream 550 aircraft. With a crew of 5, the aircraft can carry 12 passengers, with a range of 6,750 nautical miles (7,768 miles).
