He also led the creation of the first category management and strategic sourcing personnel development plan for three functional areas, launching a culture change aimed at slashing average acquisition times by 48 weeks.
Lawrence leads an organization that strategically sources approximately $5 billion in installation-level requirements, spanning 71 stateside bases, and directs the activities of project managers assigned to deliver both Air Force and major command sourcing solutions. He also assures project teams have the strategic sourcing tools, processes, templates, resources, and skills required to put cost saving commodity contract vehicles into place for operational commanders across the Department of Defense.
Knight has served in the Air Force program management career field for 40 years this February and will be the first AFICC member to represent AFMC for this award.
