The suspect arrested following the pursuit was identified as Toni Poole, 20, of Xenia, said Montgomery County Sheriff Rob Streck.
Poole is being treated at Grandview Medical Center and is in good condition, according to hospital officials.
Streck said the deputy, identified as Deputy Tori Bargo, pulled over Poole around 6 a.m. in the area of Haven Hill, after the sheriff’s office received a call of a suspicious vehicle in the area.
“There’s a vehicle that’s driving throughout the neighborhood at a high rate of speed and stopping,” the 911 caller reported. “Lights go on and lights go off. Pulling in driveways, pulling back out ... the driving is so erratic and it just doesn’t make any sense.”
Streck said Bargo was outside her cruiser when Poole tried to flee and she struck Bargo, sending her onto the hood of the patrol car.
“I was just hit by a car, I’m OK,” Bargo said over her police radio.
Poole also reportedly damaged several yards and mailboxes in the Haven Hill neighborhood.
Bargo’s service weapon discharged accidentally during the collision, Streck said.
Bargo was taken to Kettering Medical Center, where she was treated and released, hospital officials said.
“From what I’ve heard she’s going to be OK,” Streck said.
Deputies began pursuing Poole, who reportedly stopped and rammed a second deputy’s cruiser, injuring the deputy inside.
The deputy, identified as Deputy Douglas Phillips, was treated and released from Southview Medical Center, hospital officials said.
Deputies and Miami Twp. police eventually were able to stop Poole in the area of Ohio 725 and Interstate 675, when she crashed.
The sheriff’s office is investigating whether alcohol, drugs or mental health played a role in the incident.
Poole was convicted on two OVI charges in September for separate incidents in Greene County in 2018 and was sentenced to probation, court records show.
Poole was recently charged in December for fleeing and eluding and driving under suspension in Xenia during an incident on West Main Street at Progress Drive, according to court records.
She also has a pending case for allegedly driving under suspension in Beavercreek in October. She failed to appear for her most recent court date in that case and there was a warrant out for her arrest.
