There are conflicting reports on where the gun was located. Police said the gun was found on the student, but in a Facebook post the school district said the gun was found in the student’s backpack, which was in a locker.

The student has only been identified as a male juvenile.
Police said there were no threats made previously involving the weapon at the school.
The high school was placed on lockdown during the investigation but it has since been lifted, Wessling said.
Police were still working to determine how the student got the gun and if it was loaded.
The student remains in police custody but will be transferred to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center, Wessling said.
No injuries have been reported.

We are working to learn more about a police investigation reported at West Carrollton High School Tuesday morning.
Officers were requested to the high school around 9:50 a.m., according to dispatch records.
Dispatchers said the school was on lockdown initially, but it was not known if the lockdown was still active.
One person has been detained and the situation is contained, dispatchers confirm.
Additional details about the nature of the investigation were unknown.
