LEBANON — Lebanon residents will have a new reason to be thankful its Friday when a new food and music party comes to downtown.
The first Third Friday Lebanon street fair will rock downtown from 5 to 11 p.m. Friday, June 18, on Mulberry Street between Broadway and Mechanic Street.
The fair will be a laid back evening of fun, food, and music, said Sara Arseneau, director of the Lebanon Chamber of Commerce. The chamber is sponsoring the event as a way to help Lebanon residents rediscover the many of the businesses downtown.
“It’s going to be a big party for the people who live and work in Lebanon to help them kick off a summer weekend,” Arseneau said.
Sirens on Sunday will perform from 5:30 to 7 p.m., followed by Lee Everitt and Friends from 7 to 11 p.m. Food, soda, beer and wine will be available for purchase. In addition to the music, residents will be treated to special children’s activities.
A select number of tables, chairs and umbrellas will be available near the stage, but Arseneau advised attendees to bring their own lawn chairs for the evening.
Arseneau said several downtown businesses, particularly the eateries, would remain open late for the festivals, with some places planning to stay open even after the festivals “official” ending at 11 p.m.
“It will be the perfect weather for a hot dog and a cold beer,” Arseneau said.
The chamber is planning two more Friday events on July 16 and Aug. 20.
