Driver smashes into Five Guys Burgers and Fries building in Dayton, takes off

A maroon or dark brown SUV smashed into the Five Guys Burgers and Fries building on Brown Street near the University of Dayton on Wednesday afternoon, and UD Public Safety has the license plate information of the vehicle, which took off after hitting the business.

Police and a fire crew were dispatched to the business, at the corner of Brown Street between Fairground Avenue and Jasper Street, just after 6:30 p.m. on a report of a vehicle into a structure.

Witnesses described the vehicle to police and supplied officers with the information from the license plate.

Police are looking for a Chevy Tahoe or Chevy Suburban with front-end damage, one UD public safety officer said.

No one was injured in the accident.
