Drowsy driver causes rollover crash on SR 235 in Greene County

A driver who fell asleep behind the wheel crashed into an SUV, causing it to overturn into a field on state Route 235 near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Thursday morning, according to state troopers.

The crash was reported on state Route 235 between Haddix and Sandhill roads around 8:15 a.m.

The SUV overturned and rolled after it was hit by a car, both traveling on state Route 235, investigators said.

The driver of the SUV was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Their condition wasn’t available however state troopers said they were alert and conscious after the crash.

It was not known if the driver of the car suffered any injuries.

State troopers said an initial investigation found the driver of the car fell asleep behind the wheel before crashing into the SUV.
