A man riding a bicycle appeared to be impaired and an attempt to stop him ended with the discovery of fentanyl, Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey said.

The Grand Lake Task Force developed information of a possible drug transaction that was about to take place.

Seth Seals, 27, of Celina, was arrested Friday around 2 p.m. after the Grand Lake Task Force spotted him and asked Celina Police to stop him.

“He took off on foot and was observed throwing an item into a dumpster while running away,” Grey said in a prepared statement.  “Seals was caught by officers and the item he threw into the dumpster was a crushed cigarette package that contained 20 capsules of suspected drugs.”

The drugs tested positive for fentanyl, Grey said.

Seals also had a syringe in the front pocket of his shorts.

The 27-year-old remains in the Mercer County Adult Detention Facility on $50,000 bond and faces several drug charges, Grey said.
