A 42-year-old Eaton woman was indicted Tuesday in connection to a March crash that killed a Dayton pedestrian.

Stephanie Dawn Higgins was indicted for failure to stop after an accident, a felony.

Police and prosecutors say she is the hit-and-run driver who fatally struck 20-year-old Logan Grimes Jr. on March 1 in the 700 block of South Smithville Road in Dayton.

Grimes died that night at Miami Valley Hospital. His family said he was walking back from McDonald’s when he was hit.

Higgins was arrested March 5 but later was released from jail. Now, there is a warrant for her arrest.

She is scheduled to be arraigned April 16, or sooner once she’s in custody.
