Edison State to share Troy site with Franklin University

Edison State Community College is planning share its new location in Troy with Franklin University.

Through the new co-location agreement, students can pursue a health care degree beginning at Edison State for the first three years, and finish their fourth year by taking Franklin’s courses on site at Edison State’s Troy location or through Franklin’s online courses.

Classes begin on Aug. 26, according to a statement from Edison State Community College.

This expands an existing relationship between the two schools, which have had a transfer articulation agreement since 1998.

Doreen Larson, Edison State president, stated “this cooperative agreement between Edison State and Franklin University works to the benefit of students by providing high quality, convenient options and maximizes the resources of both institutions. I am grateful for the hard work of the academic leaders from both Edison State and Franklin.”

The Dayton Daily News reported in January 2018 that Edison State, based in Piqua, was planning to open a new location in Troy, on West Market Street in the former home of Miami-Jacobs Career College. The community college also has a Greenville campus and this fall will have its first classes at its new Eaton campus.
