Family and friends gathered at the Levitt Pavilion Sunday to remember Sierra Woodfork, whose body was found in a dumpster behind her apartment on Aberdeen Avenue in Kettering.

News Center 7’s Ronnell Hunt attended the celebration of Woodfork’s life. He reported that attendees brought lighters, candles and bright balloons.

Hunt also met Woodfork’s mother, Deborah Holmes, who said her daughter got along with everyone.

“She was a good girl. She never bothered nobody, she stayed to herself,” Holmes said. “Everybody loved her.”

Attendees released balloons in the pavilion to symbolize the release of pain and burdens, as well as to send a message to Woodfork – that she will always be missed.

Kettering police arrested Woodfork’s boyfriend, 37-year-old Terrel M. Ross, alleging that he stabbed her to death.
