A cashier at Fat Daddy’s RoadDog was working her shift this morning when she got the call from the Ohio Lottery that her store sold the winning Mega Millions ticket for the $143 million Friday night drawing.
“I think it’s pretty awesome,” Crystal Koverman said. “Somebody in Ohio hit it ... it’s been awhile since Ohio even had a winner.”

The Marathon gas station, 2901 Main St., will receive $100,000 for selling the winning ticket.
The sign says the Mega Millions lottery is now only worth $40 million.
Lottery spokesman Mike Bycko said the winner has 180 days to claim the prize. If the winner chooses the cash option, the payout is $86.4 million before taxes, the Associated Press reported.
At Fat Daddy’s RoadDog, word has spread quickly that the almost 34-year-old business has become home of the lucky ticket.
“I think it’s fantastic, and I hope I know ’em,” said Robin Duncan of Moraine.

“I just wish it was me,” said Jennie Curry of Moraine.
Store Manager Barbie Alderson said she almost didn’t believe it when one of her employees called her this morning with the good news.
“My response was: ‘OK, are you sure this is real?’ She said, ‘I got his number, you can call him back.’ ”
Koverman and Alderson said they don’t know who bought the winning ticket. Because the ticket was bought in Ohio, the winner does not have to reveal their identity.
November 2015 was the last time a winning Mega Millions ticket was sold in Ohio, the AP reported, when the jackpot reached $202 million.
