Man: ‘I shot my son;’ 39-year-old Dayton man in serious condition

UPDATE @ 2:50 a.m: A 39-year-old man is listed in serious condition at Miami Valley Hospital after being shot, reportedly by his father, in Dayton last week.

Kermit T. Eason was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries Thursday.

His father, James K. Eason, is in custody, accused in the shooting of his son Thursday night in the 900 block of Gard Avenue.

Eason, 66, was arrested and booked into Montgomery County Jail on felonious assault charges, jail records show.

Eason called 911 dispatchers around 10 p.m.

“I shot my son. He’s laying on the porch,” Eason said. “Hurry please.”
