Man charged in Wilson Ave. shooting in Springfield

A 31-year-old man is facing multiple charges after reportedly shooting a woman in the leg when she kicked him out of her home.

Joshua Edward Webb is facing discharge of firearms, felonious assault, weapons under disability and tampering with evidence charges, according to Clark County Municipal Court records.

Springfield police were dispatched to the 100 block of Wilson Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The woman told police that Webb was at her home earlier and that he would not stop asking her for money, according to a court affidavit.

She kicked him out, but he reportedly returned shortly after and took something off her dinning room table.

The woman chased him outside to the intersection Clifton and Freemont avenues when he started firing at her, according to the affidavit.

She was hit once in the calf and went back to her home.

She has been taken to a hospital. We’re hearing she was shot in her calf.

Officers found Webb in the 900 of Linden Avenue.

He attempted to hide in house, but was arrested after he tried to sneak out the back door, according to court documents.

Officers also found a gun in a kitchen cabinet near where Webb was seen.

Webb is being held in the Clark County Jail.
