National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

It’s never too early for holiday cheer, and to help get us into the spirit, the Victoria Theatre Association is celebrating Christmas in July with three holiday movies this weekend.

“National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation,” “Elf” and “Miracle on 34th Street” are part of the 2018 Summer Cool Film Series.

“National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” will play July 27 at 7 p.m. Chevy Chase plays Clark Griswold, a father who tries to plan the perfect family Christmas.

“Elf” plays July 28 at 7 p.m. Will Ferrell plays Buddy the Elf, who is accidentally transported to the North Pole as a toddler and raised to adulthood among Santa's elves.

The classic “Miracle on 34th Street” plays Sunday, July 29. Kris Kringle, played by Edmund Gwen, fills in for an intoxicated Santa in Macy's annual Thanksgiving Day parade. When Kringle claims he really is Santa Claus, it leads to a court case to determine his mental health and, more important, his authenticity.
