Cedarville fire believed to be electrical; fire crews investigating

UPDATE @ 7:48 a.m.:

Fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire in a house on East Elm Street in Cedarville.

According to officials on the scene, this is believed to be an electrical fire, which may have been caused by tree branches in contact with power lines being pushed by strong winds.

The resident of the house called the fire department at around 5:07 a.m., reporting that he smelled smoke in the attic.

There were no injuries due to the fire, officials said.

INITIAL REPORT:

Fire crews are responding to a report of a house fire in the first block of East Elm Street in Cedarville.

Initial reports said that smoke was coming from under the roof and the rear of the house.
