Dayton house fire causes $10K in damage, displaces residents

UPDATE @ 5:12 a.m.:

The occupants of a home that caught fire in the 2300 block of Rugby Road have been displaced, at least for the night, after a fire that dealt around $10,000 in damage, according to Dayton Fire Department District Chief Adam Landis.

Landis said that fire crews were dispatched on a report of a structure fire, and found it in the back of the two-story house on the first floor.

Fire crews were able to contain the fire to one room, the district chief said.

The house is occupied, but the residents weren’t home, Landis said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Fire crews are on the scene of a house fire in the 2300 block of Rugby Road, reported at around 3:34 a.m.

Initial reports said that there is a fire in the rear of a two-story structure.
