Fire reported at Cooper Energy Services building in Springfield

Springfield firefighters are responding to reported fire at the Cooper Energy Services building on Sheridan Avenue.

Dark smoke was reportedly seen coming from the top of the building, according to initial dispatch records.

The fire was reported just before 11 a.m.

The building is owned by R&D Excavating, LLC and is in the process of being torn down.

We are working to learn more and will update this story as more details are available.

A large fire broke out at the building in August, burning for hours before anyone noticed. The next day, firefighters were called back to the scene after the fire rekindled.
