Fire at Springfield tire store closes street

Several fire companies were called because tire fires are hard to fight, according to Matthew Smith with the Springfield Fire Department.

A power line was burned during the blaze. Ohio Edison was called to turn off the power.

The Springfield Fire Marshal is now investigating the fire.

South Yellow Springs Street is now back open.

South Yellow Springs Street is closed in Springfield due to a tire store on fire.

The fire was reported around 10 a.m. in the 1500 block of S. Yellow Springs St. Smoke can be seen from downtown Springfield.
