Fire destroys garage, damages 2 homes in Dayton

UPDATE @ 8:45 a.m.: 

Firefighters are working to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed a garage and damaged two homes in Dayton Wednesday morning.

The fire was reported near the intersection of East First and North Irwin streets around 7:35 a.m. First units on the scene indicated the garage was fully engulfed in flames, according to initial reports.

Investigators said the fire caused damage to two homes, but the damage was described as cosmetic.

No injuries were reported and additional details were not available.

FIRST REPORT

Firefighters are working to extinguish a reported garage fire near the intersection of East First and North Irwin streets in Dayton Wednesday morning.

Crews reported the garage was fully engulfed in flames and was starting to spread to the neighboring house, according to initial reports.

The occupants of the house were able to safely evacuate, according to emergency scanner traffic.

No injuries have been initially reported.
